A, B, C’s of Crochet – Learn the basics: chain, single, double, treble crochet and more.
A, B, C’s of Knitting – Learn the basics: knit, purl, cast on and bind off & more.
Finishing Techniques – Make your garment look professional: blocking, picking up stitches & seaming.
Using Your Stash – Do you have leftover yarn that is begging to be used? Several ways to use stash yarn (with new yarn) will be shared.
Mitered Squares – If you can do the knit stitch you can do a mitered square. Learn how mitered squares can be used to make unusual afghans, scarves and even sweaters.
Circular Knitting
Learn to use double pointed needles & circular needles to create a knitted item in the round. The technique can be used to knit a circular throw, a sweater, a hat or socks.
Stitch Sampler
Learn a variety of knitting stitch patterns: cables, a lace stitch, bobbles & diamonds.
A, B, C’s of Pattern Reading – Do you resist knitting from a pattern? Take this class and learn basic pattern reading using a pattern of your choice.
Two Color knitting – Learn the basic techniques of knitting with two colors – intarsia and two stranded knitting.
Socks – Learn to make socks using a selected sock pattern and either double pointed or 2 circular needles.
Make a Sweater
Are you feeling sweater challenged? Learn to use mutiple yarns, increase & decease, pick up stitches, set in sleeves, by making an infant sweater.
Crocheted Embellishments
“Knitting loves Crochet” - learn techniques using crochet to decorate knitted garments.
New classes are being added each session. Class suggestions are welcome!
Class times:
Sundays 12:30pm–2:30pm; Wednesdays 6pm–8pm; Fridays 11:30am–1:30pm; Saturdays 10:30–12:30pm
Class fees: (supplies not included, but a 10% discount is offered on class supplies)
4 hour class - $55 2 hour class - $30
Advance registration & payment for classes is requested. All classes have a minimum and maximum registration. 72 hours cancellation notice is required. Only store credit will be given for a cancellation. If “the knitting store” cancels a class, a full refund will be given. A suggested supply list will be provided at registration. It is preferred that supplies be purchased
(10% discount for class supplies) at that time.
